It’s been a long time since I have updated~! (almost a year) A lot has happened since last June.
Still working at the same company (now know as Auvenue) and still a jewelry photographer, and still as fun! The only major vacation that I went on this year was Hong Kong (in February). Hong Kong, as usual, so awesome, love it. That trip I also when to Tokyo, Japan for the first time. What an experience! The things you do and see there is very different from NYC, especially the people there! The level of manner and respect for each other is so high. But let’s not let this update be about Japanese people and my trip.
Time passes by so fast… already a whole year soon…
Looking for new projects and activities to do, such as biking and painting perhaps? Video shoots and photo shoots soon to come as well.
Well I ll share a picture of Japan

Okay, so I finally have some time to look into HTML5 and CSS3 a little bit, and starting to implement changes to my existing websites and upcoming projects.

I also came across a website called HTML5 Boilerplate, which has a default for a HTML5 based website, and a build script that focuses on optimizing a website to the core. There are a few videos on this site also, so check it out.

I find this blog to be very useful: http://www.noupe.com/
It gives a lot of information and tips regarding web design and graphics design. There are also links in different posts for many modernjavascripts like lightbox or slideshows. A great resource for designers.

I finally got some time to upload pictures from my trip to Europe & Africa (after 2 months, which is still pretty short lol). The cities that we went to are Barcelona, Casablanca, Marrakech, Madrid, and Lisbon. It was an awesome trip, and experienced many firsts (The Sahara Desert was just incredible…). Saw a lot, and ate a a lot! It’s actually the first time for me to go to Europe & Africa and I absolutely love the feel. The people there are always seemed so relaxed and happy. Maybe because in Europe, everyone is drinking any time of day, and drinking is allowed in public.
Check out the pictures!

“Lytro, Inc. is an early-stage company headquartered in Mountain View, California. Lytro is taking the next big step in photography, transforming the camera into a powerful computational platform.
Turning Imaging Hardware Into Software
A Lytro camera captures the entire light field entering the lens, not just an ordinary image. Our computational photography processes the light field to produce pictures, implementing in software what the conventional camera and lens must do physically in hardware. Using the power and economics of software, computational photography removes the physical constraints of camera and lens systems.
A Revolution in Photographic Capabilities and Performance
Lytro’s approach has produced revolutionary results. A Lytro camera can do things that have been considered impossible since the invention of photography. The ability to focus a picture after you take the shot is one striking example, and only the tip of the iceberg. Computational cameras will make photography dramatically simpler, higher performance, and much more fun.
Lytro is redefining photography. Computational imaging is the future.
You can play with the provided simulation to get an idea of what they are trying to achieve.
Adobe is working on a similar technology for plenoptic camera with microlens array that lets you select which part of the photo you want to be in focus. There is already a plenoptic camera produced by a German company. It seems that Lytro’s solution is only software based and it does not require any special hardware.”

“This video highlights several clips we’ve made using our new High Dynamic Range (HDR) process. Video is captured on two Canon 5D mark II DSLRs, each capturing the exact same subject via a beam splitter. The cameras are configured so that they record different exposure values, e.g., one camera is overexposed, the other underexposed. After the footage has been recorded, we use a variety of HDR processing tools to combine the video from the two cameras, yielding the clips you see above.
HDR Video provides filmmakers with many exciting new opportunities. Not only can HDR video create interesting effects, it can also allow for even exposure where artificial lighting is unavailable or impractical. For example, when a subject is backlit, one camera could be set to properly expose the subject, the other the sky, resulting in video with perfect exposure throughout.
We will continue to develop and improve the HDR video process for better results and efficiency. For more information, check out our website

Media surfaces: Incidental Media
“This is the first of two video sketches illustrating some of the ideas and principles behind Dentsu London’s communications strategy Making Future Magic bit.ly/makingfuturemagic_phil
Here, media includes messages from friends and social services, like Foursquare or Twitter, and also more functional messages from companies or services like banks or airlines alongside large traditional big ‘M’ Media (like broadcast or news publishing).
The second sketch “The Journey”, looks at train travel. You can see it here vimeo.com/16423237
This is part of a collaboration between Dentsu London and BERG. You can read more about both films at Dentsu London’s blog bit.ly/mediasurfaces and on BERG’s blog here bit.ly/incidentalmedia and here bit.ly/thejourney_ms
